The food was mind blowingly delicious. This place had no business being as good as it is. Will definitely recommend and will definitely return.
Cute little restaurant with great tacos! On Tuesdays the tacos were 3/$9. I had the shrimp tacos with the avocado salsa and they were delicious! I will definitely be back.
The food was very good. The place was small but very cool.
Food was amazing! It's a small place but the service was great they answered all our questions and made great recommendations. Will definitely hang out more when the weather warms up.
The street tacos were OK just didn't have the wow factor. The nachos were really good. Order at counter, food brought out t ur table.
Best chip corn chips I've ever had. Tacos were great! They were super nice, and the prices very fair. It was worth the stop!
Was this the best Mexican food I've ever had? No. Was this the best I could find in the area at the time I was there? Yes. The prices were reasonable and the hot salsa was pleasantly hot. The margarita pitchers were smallish and a bit on the weak side and the guacamole was OK. Until a better Mexican places opens up on that street at a similar price point I think Lil Gio's deserves 4 stars.
The best Mexican food I have ever had.
Very good tacos. We tried the fish tacos and they were really good. Definitely will come again.
We visited this cute little taco shop for lunch on a Sunday in the middle of Christmas Traditions, so needless to say they were slammed. Nevertheless, the crew was super friendly and sweet, the food came out quickly and was delicious, the dining area was tidy--no complaints! Their style tastes a little different than most other Mexican places I've tried, and I like it.
Went to the festival of the little hills tonight and didn't want to get the usual festival food. We stumbled upon this place and decided to give it a try. I am super picky when it comes to Mexican food. I ordered a fish taco and a shrimp taco. They were authentic, delicious and so reasonable! I can't wait to go back. Oh, and the hibiscus tea is to die for!
Ok service, good location, ok Mexican food.
Nice place. A little tight in space. I had the chicken wrap, yum!
Great food and quick/friendly service. I really liked their Hibiscus Tea... it's a must try. Their chips and salsa are good, although not complementary, and different than most other Mexican restaurants in the area. Seating is limited but that's the only negative I could find about this place. Will definitely come back!
Great street tacos, best in the area hands-down (coconut shrimp in particular is really good, and when they have it the spicy pork. chicken is a bit on the bland side tho). Agave beer on tap, very nice. Fantastic chips, salsa has great texture but is a tad bland. Nice little outdoor patio area. Easily one of my favorite places on main, I just wish they served food late night!!!
We showed up at prolly 725 when they closed at 730. Definitely didn't realize it till about 735 and they were great about not rushing us through or giving any looks like you usually get when you show up right before closing and I appreciate that. Great smiles from the staff and very good food too!
Excellent street tacos, but a bit on the pricy side. $17 plus tip for three tacos, a side of beans, and iced tea.
Not quite authentic but Americanized Mexican. Good prices, made to order. They have a few beers and Mexican cokes as well.
Great hidden authentic Mexican Restaurant. Food is excellent. Try it!
Tonight we tried Lil Gio's for the first time and absolutely loved it. We had the taco salad (delicious/fresh ingredients and the veggie burrito. Great portions for the price paid. We will certainly be back!
Fast friendly service. The food is delicious, I highly recommend the shrimp tacos. The atmosphere is cozy. A great place to grab a quick bite to eat. And good for gluten free food as well
Always a great experience here! The chips and salsa are really good, and the shredded chicken burrito with jalepenos is to die for.
Good food. Authentic. Quick service.
The best tasting mexican food with the best tasting chicken and steak around, oh and the best "not out of a bottle mix" margarita's in town.
One of my favorite place in St. Charles, MO. Great tasting food, friendly customer service !! I have been here many times and will be coming back many times again.
Stumbled upon this place yesterday with my fiancé. It was decent, but definitely not authentic Mexican food and very overpriced.
Went here with my fiance for dinner for the first time last night. It was pouring rain outside so the place was not busy. He arrived before me and had a margarita, chips, and salsa. As I walked in and sat down the girl at the counter asked if she should make my margarita now. I thought it was so nice that they waited to make it until I arrived so it wasn't watered down. The margaritas were on happy hour and were good. Not overpowering. The salsa was amazing and they sell it there. I had the steak and shrimp tacos. They were soooooo good. The steak had amazing flavor. My fiance had a steak and cheese quesadilla and the chorizo taco. I tried both and again they were so good. He's going to be mad when he finds out I took a couple bites of his leftovers this morning ;-) We will definitely be back!
Always amazing food and service! Always stop in when we are in town. Thank you 😊
Great little joint. Great tacos. Casual and nice.
Wow. Most Mexican restaurants I’ve been to either have great chips and queso or great food. This place has both! The queso sauce and chips were so good and the quesadilla was the best I’ve had. You gotta try this place out if you’re in the area.
Service was mediocre at best, waited almost 15 minutes to be asked what I wanted to drink, then had to go up to the counter to order. Wouldn't be a big deal if they were busy, but I was one of two people in the restaurant at that time. The food was fine.
It was not very good. The tacos were dry and lacking flavor. The beans and rice were good but the portion size small. Definitely wasnt worth the money. We won't be going back.
Like the atmosphere, small place but nice little outdoor seating area with both a view of Main and Frontier Park. Street tacos were great, 3 for $9 on Tuesdays. Burrito could have been smothered in more cheese.
I had the chicken, beef, and coconut shrimp tacos which we're great with my margarita on the out side patio.
It was decent. If you order food to go there's no where to stand and you feel constantly in the way. Also very long wait for tacos which are supposed to be quick easy street food.
Fresh and tasty. Although it was a sweltering hot day the wait staff was polite and courteous
Probably one of the best Street tacos me and my girlfriend have ever had! If Mexican even kinda sounds good then go here! Freaking amazing food!!!!
Interesting little place, worth trying if down on St.Charles Riverfront. We had the 2 tacos and a beer for $10.50. Agave Wheat on draft was surprisingly good . For my taste the steak tacos needed something else to bring out the flavor, maybe hot sauce or pico ?
Ordered delivery, food didn’t come (I needed it delivered less than 5 minutes of a walk away), went to check (30 minutes after it was supposed to get to me) at the store and it was sitting on the counter. Told me that they didn’t realize it was a deliver order (i ordered from their website) and said that even if it was delivery she wouldn't have done it. I took my food (naked chicken bowl -soggy and definitely not worth $8). Not only did I pay for the food but they also charged me a convenience fee... They are ok if you are visiting main street and need quick food, but I wouldn’t purposefully order from here to eat again. Disappointing
The food was so fresh and healthy! The atmosphere was laid-back and the staff were friendly. Must visit in St. Charles.
The place is cozy quaint, the food was okay. The service is great, I just found the food to be of less quality than I expected. A bit blase'. I had chips and salsa, and a chicken taco.
Was ok. Not the best Mexican I've had. Good nachos. Not extremely generous portions
Loved the chorizo and steak taco! Lite fresh made chips were perfect.
The food was very good! I enjoyed the enchiladas mole.
QUALITY food for a great price! Definitely a great place to stop for a drink and a yummy meal. Check out the original recipe margaritas!
OMG the shrimp tacos are amazing. I don’t even like shrimp. And thanks for offering gluten free options!
The seating area is a bit on the small side, but the portions were fairly generous. Nachos were amazing. Steak burrito, as well. The one perplexing item to our party was that sour cream and guac both carry an additional cost, and aren't automatically included.
My girls and I love this place. We have had their chicken nachos, steak quesadillas, house made salsa, and other things. You have to go and try their food.
Very small. Only a handful of tables and little space to walk around. You order at the back counter and they bring your food to you. There is a soda fountain and 2 iced tea options. Food was great! I liked the avocado taco combo. Just enough rice and beans.
